Welcome to the
Cambridge Responsibility Forum (CRF).

The CRF has been started thanks to the efforts of the Founder Partners:

Hugh Parnell
at NW Brown Group Ltd

Kathie Neal
at SOS Children UK

Bill Parsons
and Dominic Vergine

at ARM Ltd

Rachel Pepper
at 2Cs Communications Ltd

The Partners have welcomed their first Founder Member, Peters Elworthy Moore.

The Forum aims to promote lively critical discussion, generate a support and information network for businesses and kick start a more intense approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the area. By sharing each others' activities, perhaps coordinating or joining together and linking where appropriate with local not-for-profit organisations it is expected that members' endeavours in the CSR arena will be more effective and valuable.

Key focuses include promoting 'quick wins' to help initiate a firm's CSR programme; creating an interactive network for firms generating long term strategies or facing legislative pressures; and educating members on an holistic approach to CSR as pressures globally push this up the agenda both politically and commercially.

It is the intention of the Founder Partners to arrange regular meetings, probably about once each quarter, in or around Cambridge, for interested parties to come together and share ideas and experiences. To be kept informed of future events please register here

The inaugural Event was held on Monday 18th October 2010. Subsequent meetings will be announced when fixed. We are always interested in ideas that you may have for special topicswhich would be of general interest to the Forum.

The Essential Elements of CSR for the Forum are easily described by '4 Pillars':

Community
How does your business affect the communities where you are based, where you sell and buy supplies, socially, economically and in other ways?

Workplace
How do your business practices impact on your staff and how do employees impact your business practices? Do you provide corporate socially responsible activities and actions to motivate and retain staff?

Marketplace
How does your business affect the marketplace in which you operate and how can your business provide a positive influence within that marketplace?

Environment
How does your business impact on the environment where you work, where you sell your products or services and whence you source supplies? What other environmental impacts are a direct or indirect result of your business?
